Increase Your Chances, Your New Baby Is Waiting To Meet You!

Each year vast amounts of cash and emotion are spent in pursuit of pregnancies that never happen. Hypnotherapy and Acupuncture represents a safe and powerful way of increasing fertility.

Liam Grey was conceived naturally after his mom, Amber Olson, sought out hypnosis assistance. After the failure of several ART techniques over the course of 3 years, having endured emotional and financial devastation, yet “knowing there was a baby there,” Olson booked a private hypnotherapy session. She became pregnant after just 2 fertility hypnosis sessions. She was so impressed with her experience that less than a year after the birth of her son, Olson signed up for training and began working full-time as a hypnotist, assisting other women in realizing their dreams of having a baby. Amber gave birth to Devak, a baby brother for Liam, in September 2007.

Infertility: The Mindbody Connection

Studies conducted by Alice Domar, PhD, director of the Beth Israel Deaconess Behavioral Medicine Program for Infertility in Boston support Muir's theory that unresolved issues about having a baby can be removed with counseling and mind/body techniques such as hypnotherapy. In the first study published in 1999 in the Journal of the American Medical Women's Association 42% of 132 infertile women in the program conceived within six months of completing it. In the second study, published in 2000 in the journal Fertility and Sterility, 55% of the previously infertile women who met regularly in a mind/body program conceived, compared with 20% of the control group who used no mind/body techniques and who did not attend meetings.

A study in the October 09 issue of the journal Fertility and Sterility found that women who "let go" of their worries about becoming pregnant during in vitro fertilization treatment were more likely to become pregnant. The study examined 88 women as they went through IVF treatment. The women's emotional coping strategies were measured. For example, researchers tried to determine how much the women thought about or worried about the outcome of their treatments and how much they felt they needed to persevere. "Letting go" was defined as being emotionally disengaged from the process and distracting oneself from the treatment.

Of the 88 women, 21 became pregnant. But those who had the highest scores reflecting a "letting go" attitude were 88% more likely to become pregnant compared with women who tended to worry and ruminate about the treatment.

"Some studies point out that . . . denial, humor, letting go can be beneficial in the event of uncontrollable stressors," the authors wrote. "When control is not possible, focusing on and regulating one's associated emotions may be more effective." How does not worrying help? Researchers speculate that prolonged emotional stress impacts many bodily functions, including cardiovascular, endocrine, immunological and neuro-visceral systems.

For women who stop having their periods and are not pregnant or going through menopause, counselling and hypnosis may help them start menstruating again. Fertility and Sterility, October 2003.

In a pilot study involving 12 women with amenorrhea, nine resumed menstruation within 12 weeks of undergoing a single session of hypnotherapy. In addition, women reported a better sense of well-being and increased self-confidence. Hypnosis may work by allowing women to regain the "forgotten knowledge" of the capacity to menstruate on a regular basis. Hypnotherapy could be an efficacious and time-saving treatment option.

Explaining Unexplained Infertility

Far too many women are being diagnosed with "Unexplained Infertility." Characterized by a lack of measurable, physical reasons for being unable to conceive, this catch-all diagnosis may do more harm than good, by increasing a patient's stress levels.

"Hi Emily, I hope you are doing great and the cold winter is not giving you a hard time. I am certainly having less trouble with cold weather ever since your therapy helped me overcome that awful feeling that I related to being cold.

I wanted to share excellent news with you since you helped me so much. I found last Thursday that I am pregnant!!!!!!! I could not believe it since after they cancelled the treatment at the end of September, my body had been behaving in a very strange way and I had no clue about how long my cycle would be or when would ovulation occur, etc. Even the doctors were having a hard time to figure out when they would be able to start a new cycle. I believe my body was just trying to recover by itself and I helped it a little bit with a couple of acupuncture sessions. It is a wonderful surprise for us and we are very happy. I have to go to Shady Grove Fertility tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday for a series of blood tests to make sure that the "beta" levels are rising normally, but I am certain that this is a gift from Mother Nature to me that has come against all odds and everything will be just fine. I want to pass the 6th week mark that was so devastating to me last time but I am trying very hard to trust my body and let it do what it knows to do. I visit my baby every day in the womb and see the little bundle perfectly secured in its seat. This is my Christmas Miracle and I can't wait to share it with my family when they come for Christmas!!!!!

Thank you again for your help and we will probably see you at least to say hi when we bring my sister for her appointments.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!!

"While working on infertility, Dr. Wang helped me to resolve all the pain associated with a previous miscarriage, all the shame, fear and guilt. It was such a huge relief. And I'm finally at peace, with myself and with my baby. We released and resolved so much stuff, that I'm feeling like my body is waking up. For the first time in a long time, my uterus doesn't feel cold and gray any more. I'm so happy! I was telling her that I wish someone had told me about her right after the miscarriage. Then I wouldn't have suffered so long. But here I am, finding my peace and happiness again, and looking forward to welcoming my baby into my life!"
