Recipe to Build Blood: Wu Hong Soup

Ingredients:

Huang Qi 9 g, Aduki bean 50 g, dates 9 pieces, redskin peanut 50 g, chinese mountain yam (fresh one 180 g, dried one 30 g), brown sugar 6 g, goji berry 12 g.

Where to get the Ingredients:

You can get lab tested Huang Qi and dried chinese mountain yam from me, or fresh chinese mountain yam from a chinese supermarket. The rest of the ingredients you can get from a chinese supermarket, Moms, Whole Food, or amazon.

Steps:

1. Soak Huang Qi,  Aduki bean, and dates overnight. Rinse a few times the next day.

2. Add  Huang Qi,  Aduki bean, brown sugar, and peanut to a pot, add 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hr.

3. While the soup is boiling. Soak goji berry.

4. Peel off the skin of fresh chinese mountain yam. Wear gloves to prevent itchiness caused by the skin of it. Cut it into slices and add them to the soup. If you are using dried yams, just add them to the soup.

5. Add dates to the soup when the beans are very soft (about 45 min - 1 hr of simmering) and continue to simmer for 15 min.

6. Rince the goji berries and add them to the soup. Simmer for 3 min.

Either discard the Huang Qi slices or save them on the side (use them to make tea or reuse them once to make another batch of soup).
